Father George Announcement

I wish to advise that our most revered and respected School Chaplain and Parish Priest of Saints Anagiri, the Reverend Father George will be assuming leadership of St Catherine’s Parish in Malvern East within the next few weeks.
Father George confirmed his departure with Oakleigh Grammar staff this morning following a calling from God confirmed by His Eminence Archbishop Makarios and His Grace Bishop Kyriakos of Sozopolis.
My wholehearted gratitude is extended to Father George for his exemplary spiritual leadership and guidance of thousands of Oakleigh Grammar students over the past twelve years. My own personal relationship with Father George has been exceptionally strong and his love, support, guidance and fellowship has been very much appreciated and will be greatly missed.
Whilst we will be very sad to see Father George leaving us, we are encouraged and optimistic about the appointment of Father Stavros as School Chaplain of Oakleigh Grammar and Parish Priest of Saints Anagiri. Both Father George and Father Stavros have had a long standing positive and respectful relationship and they will work together to ensure a smooth transition occurs in favour of our School and community.
Our students, who have a special relationship with Father George as their spiritual Father, will undoubtedly miss their daily interactions and special relationship. Thankfully Father George is locating to Malvern which is a short distance from our School and he has promised to make regular visits to our School and Parish. He will maintain his Orthodox Studies teaching role until the end of this term and we look forward to a special Farewell Assembly during the last week of term two.
I am certain that we will all respect God’s will and collectively celebrate the significant impact that Father George has had on our School and community.

Mark Robertson,

Principal
