Parents and Guardians,

As you are no doubt aware, there have been recent reports regarding an outbreak of Novel Coronavirus in the Wuhan district of China.

Oakleigh Grammar continues to monitor the health and wellbeing of all international students, as per our welfare responsibility under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 and National Code.

We assure you the current risk is low, whilst asking you and the students to:

  • Protect your health by practising good hand hygiene and respiratory hygiene. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue, or cough into your elbow, dispose of the tissue into the bin and then wash your hands afterwards. Wash your hands regularly, after using the toilet and before eating.
  • Make contact with us regarding any questions and queries and to let us know of any concerns you have or any indication of illness.

The International Education Division and the Department of Education and Training, advise that students returning from travels in China should monitor their health, and if they present with any flu-like symptoms should see a doctor and inform them of their recent travels.
